This Cursed Light

It’s been six months since Alessa and her friends saved everything and everyone she loves from nearly being destroyed, including Dante. All she wants now is to be in love and enjoy life while being celebrated as a hero. Unfortunately, she can no longer touch Dante without hurting him.

Dante no longer feels like himself. He’s grappling with the loss of his healing powers, his discomfort with fame, and a growing conviction that the gods are planning another war - a war that Alessa refuses to acknowledge is coming, whether she likes it or not.

When a visiting dignitary attacks while under a trance, warning them of the god Crollo’s impending attack, Dante, Alessa, and their friends set off to find the banished ghiotte and hopefully join forces to create the army of warriors they will need to fight it. But after reaching the mysterious city where they’ve hidden, Dante discovers more than the people who accidentally left him behind and disappeared. His painful past awaits, and he must answer the deeper question of who he is and where he belongs and what that means for him and Alessa.
