Etudes D'Art Antique Et Moderne (1888)
Eugene Guillaume
The author was 32 years old when she experienced self-realization after a spontaneous rising of the Kundalini power and thereafter entered many times into the realm of cosmic consciousness and other higher states of being. She joined the military at the age of 34, believing that the physical training would assist in diffusing the uncontrollable Kundalini energy that now threatened to burn out her nervous system. She gives in-depth information about the symptoms produced and how she dealt with her emotional, intellectual and physical transformations, which at times made her doubt her own sanity and sent her on journeys around the world looking for answers. The author has demystified self-realization and brought it down into ordinary daily life. She gives insights into the meaning of our terrestrial journeys and states that man is not a finished product and that he is evolving into a new species called Cosmic Man. The author was born during the Nazi Holocaust in Germany and when nine years old immigrated with her mother to the U.S. During numerous travels between India and the United States, she investigated many religious sects, met many gurus and worked as a volunteer with Mother Teresa in Calcutta.
