I was born on August 6, 1982, in Pineville, Louisiana. I lived a short time with my biological parents before being placed in the care of relatives. I went back to my parents for a couple years and by the age of fourteen, I was placed in foster care. I have four sisters and I love each and every one of them. My sister Laura is my heart and my angel. She keeps me on track. Due to the circumstances that unfolded I began to write. Poetry took my mind to a safe place. Over the years I have written hundreds of poems, but moving from home to home, I lost many. Now I keep them all together, and to have them published is a dream come true for a child who has done her part to stay out of trouble and become a great friend, wife, and mother.
