This is a story about the large magma deposit beneath the lake in Yellowstone Park. As it pushes up it may become one of the largest volcanic eruptions in the history of the Earth. Despite governmental secrecy a vacationer discovers the secret and returns home determined to learn more and find a suitable shelter to survive. As a widower, he moves quietly to find a strong building to improve and ways to provide food for at least a two year winter. A new love enters his life and with her they face the cataclysm together, but with strangers and without all those they love and had hoped to save.
