Steve Wilks is the sheriff of a small cattle and farming town, where his only duties are to break up fist fights between the cowboys and farmers and to arrest drunks. That is, until the body of the area’s biggest rancher is found in an alley in town. Suddenly, he has to deal with a murder investigation, with which he has no experience at all. When two more of the town’s founding citizens are found dead, the sheriff has to find out why they are being murdered, before he can find the killer. With the help of his deputy, a crippled ex-sheriff, the town doctor, an old stable hand, and a young boy, he searches for the killer of Cullenville’s original settlers.
