One act of expression is begging. At some point in all of our lives we have heard the expression that there are two things that are certainties in this life, death and taxes. If we examine that a little closer, I believe we could name a few other things, one of which is that we have seen a beggar. It may have been on television, in our neighborhood, on the streets, or even at the local church. Like it or not, beggars are a part of our lives. It is here that I introduce the concept of beggar as a spiritual truth. As the Lord imparted this to me I was taken to the scripture concerning a blind man named Bartimaeus. He was a beggar. In this book I point out to you that Bartimaeus was no different than you and I.
