Mary Fitzgerald-Rodriguez has three loves: God, her family, and animals. After moving from Ohio to south Texas in 1998, Mary was able to have her own personal menagerie of goats, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats. She has always enjoyed writing, and after becoming a grandmother, she began writing and illustrating books about her apetsa and sending them as gifts to the grandchildren she missed so much. When the family visited, they had an opportunity to meet the animals, so the books became a way of sharing on a very personal level.
