Dustin travels as a cultural exchange student from Rhode Island to Washington. Dustin realizes she is out of place in the older community. They are a close-knit community of members from the Inner Circle, dabbling in herbal magic. Dustin is picked up by a member of her sponsor family, and soon problems increase. They were expecting a male to room with their youngest son, Jimmy. The older son is partnered with a member of the older community and they enlist her help with a project. Dustin agrees to help the police and find out about a baby ring at the Pines. Dustin ends up being drugged and photographed, but gets the information from the police; a leak notifies the Pines. They leave fliers at the school, portraying Dustin as a prostitute. Dustin runs away and is found by Erick, taking a sacred rite. Will he jeopardizes his place in the Inner Circle to help her?
