I was born in Pineville, Louisiana, in October of 1960, the oldest girl out of four children to Cleveland and Verna Eggins. I am a homemaker, writer, singer, songwriter, and a mother of four childrenaChristopher, Carlos, Adrian, Araaand grandmother of one, Krishonisti whom I gave the nickname MiMi. I was introduced to cooking at a very early age. I started out helping my mother and grandmother in the kitchen. Cooking quickly turned into one of my passions. Singing would be my other passion. Whenever I am not busy with my music career you will find me in the kitchen, singing and cooking with my granddaughter, you will find a few of her favorite recipes included in the cookbook. One of my favorite things to do is to spend time with my family. My husband and son are soldiers in the United States Army and they love to eat good food. My husband was the one who inspired me to write this book, A Soldieras Wife Cookbook. At this time in my life I am a very happy woman, doing everything that I have ever dreamed of doing. I am grateful, and I thank God. One of my future goals would be to go back to college to get a bachelor of science in criminal justice. I would like to be an advocate for women and children of domestic violence. But if that never happens I will continue to cook, write, sing, and bring awareness so that others will help victims of domestic violence. I have already started to write my next book. In it you will know why I feel so strongly about this issue.
