I was born fourth of six children, to my grandmother’s Ezilda oldest daughter Adele. We all lived next door to each other on a small farm. We enjoyed the many family gatherings with her at her home. I can still recall the memories of the busheries and her homemade ice-cream. She loved to cook for her family and we loved her cooking. She taught us about family values of being raised a Catholic. She has been gone now for more than 20 years and I can’t go a day without thinking about how much she made a difference in my life. I often think that this seems like that was the last generation that knew what a hard day’s work was and not just showing up for a paycheck. Every time I think of her it gives me a grand coeur. Sharing this book of her cooking brings me back to how much I love and miss her. I hope you enjoy her cooking as much as I have.
