El Alma Castellana, 1600-1800 (1900)

A young nurse has been brutally killed in her apartment, the first in a series of grisly murders. Homicide detectives aHama Gould and his partner, Stan Kingman, are called to the murder scene by Jerry Harner, a fellow detective. The killer has left a letter addressed to Ham, challenging him to catch him before he kills again. In the ensuing days, additional bodies are discovered, and the detectives try desperately to find and apprehend the deranged killer, aided by Hamas girlfriend, Helen Bishop, a noted criminal profiler. At each grotesque murder site, the killer has left intricate clues to his identity, clues that the team attempts to decipher in an effort to find this madman and apprehend him before he succeeds in his threat to complete his murder plan and disappear. Time is running out, and as the murders continue, Ham and his friends are propelled on a roller-coaster ride that will exact personal prices from each of them that they are not prepared to pay.
