DEREK LEE is a sophomore guard on the Archie High School basketball team. His burning desire is not only to be a part of the varsity team, but also to be a leader of the team. JARON BUSH is the senior captain and natural leader of the team, but is more interested in earning a college scholarship than in the team’s success. Derek yearns for the chance to be point guard and change the direction and focus of the struggling team. Jaron stubbornly tries to maintain his iron-fisted leadership, and rejects the eager sophomore. When a mid-season crisis gives Derek the opportunity to be point guard for one game, he seizes the moment, and begins to win the confidence of the team. But will he ever be accepted by Jaron, and can the team turn its season around?
