In the turbulent aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union, a young woman in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia faced with a future of extreme deprivation in the collapsed economy of her homeland, signs on to an international matchmaking service that finds ‘mail-order’ brides for lonely American bachelors.
