This is the story of all soldiers, whether they served in the 7th Cavalry in 1876 or participated in the Korean War during the 1950s. Actually, this is an autobiography of the adventures of Ted Vassil while he served in the Marine Corps. The story of Custeras demise and the events leading to it are matched to the authoras own personal experiences during his time in Korea. Through extensive research, he finds Custer to have been a despicable commander and an egotist, which ultimately cost the lives of the troops under his command. The authoras experiences in boot camp as well as in the field are a vivid picture of the universality of all soldiers and fighting men dating back to Alexander the Great.
