The truth is Jesus’ death on the cross was God ordained. Every detail, including the events of the arrest, trial, sentencing, and conviction that we find so difficult to understand, were part of God’s plan of redemption long before Jesus set foot on the scene. If we fast forward to Jesus hanging on the Cross rather than the events of the conspiracy leading up to it, the magnitude of what God demanded of his One and Only Son is lost. Failure to study the entire crucifixion story is to leave out a huge piece of God’s salvation plan. If you are a true Christian you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus died for your sins. There is an attitude of expectancy meaning that, after the fact, we expected Jesus to die on the Cross. The full story, however, is filled with emotion and reality.
