It was a hot July night Ashley sat on the front porch watching her children play. Her mind drifted back to her home town and all the troubles that she has gone through. It was June 1971 Ashley Stanley was a sweet nineteen-year-old girl just finishing college. Her best friend Bill was joining the IRA and he wanted her to go with him. Her father was drinking a lot since the death of her mother so it was easy for her to say yes. As she reached the front porch of her house she noticed that the door was ajar and that scared her. As she walked inside she was shaking, she saw everything turned upside down. Heading upstairs to go to her room she had to pass her father’s room but noticed that the door was shut. She knocked at the door but there was no answer so she went inside and found her father on the floor in a pool of blood.
