Edward Costikyan, a lawyer, politician, writer, and amateur conductor of oratories has written over 90 essays in the last forty years. Many of them have been published in such publications as Harper’s magazine, the Saturday Review, and The New York Times. Many more have never been published and are the bulk of the subject matter of this book. The subjects range from politics ( Without Regard to Race, Color or Creed ), to government (including observations on pacifism and patriotism), to universities (including an examination of why tuition fees have risen to the heights and levels which they now inhabit), to law (including an examination of the attempted impeachment of President Clinton), to miscellaneous subjects (including essays on Korea, music, and ethnicity). Many of the essays are not politically correct but carry with them a refreshing frankness.
