This is a story about an African-American family in Nashville, Tennessee. Grandma Vet, the matriarch of this family, receives a telephone call in regards to her mother falling sick while visiting her mother and other relatives in Denver. The family decides to drive to Denver to check on Grandma Janice. As they travel, they notice that there are an awful lot of bugs on the car as well as some inside the car. This triggers Grandma Vetas thinking faculty to wonder what a bugas life is like on the highway. Grandma Vet decides to write a fiction story about the bugs to coincide with her real trip to Colorado. This story relates how important family is, and how sickness can draw a family closer together. It teaches all to appreciate each member of a family because you never know what the end of the day will bring. This is a heartwarming story that will make you laugh and perhaps cry. Hopefully, everyone who reads this book will be able to relate and benefit from the story of Bugs on a Trip.
