Carabeth, an almost thirty housewife, feels defeated in life because her dreams of college, career, and children have been pushed aside by her husbandas work. Using alcohol to substitute happiness sparks conflict in her marriage that she chooses to ignore. A turn of fate introduces her to a young woman whose questions about God cause Carabeth to question her own faith–the problem being sheas the pastoras wife!
