Damaged is a story about the James family, who are afflicted with drug addiction, rape, murder and death. Vanessa James is a single parent to Kayla and Charles James. When she loses her childrenas father to prison, Vanessa gets involved with a married man who introduces her to the drug crack cocaine. She instantly becomes addicted, neglecting her children in the projects of Detroit. Daughter Kayla is being continuously raped by her momas drug-dealing boyfriend, Spencer Munro. Her little brother, C.J., age fourteen, is without a positive male role model and winds up following the footsteps of an up-and-coming drug dealer named Bruce. Kayla begins to sleep with strangers, then robbing and drugging them for money. This behavior becomes Kaylaas passion. She enlists her older cousin Jersee in her schemes. They will ultimately find themselves in danger.
