Firefighting is unlike any other job. Most of the time you take risks for people you donat know and who donat care if anything happens to you. The pat on the back and the aatta boya comes from your brother or sister firefighter and means more than if it were from someone who has no idea what you have just experienced. This job is very demanding and very rewarding. I am expected to bring order out of chaos at every ambulance call or fire run, and I accept the calling. The adrenalin rush is a factor as we rush into a burning building or start an IV under helicopter lights. You have to play with what youare dealt and learn how to adapt and overcome.
