This book of poetry is written to kindle a flame of hope for residents, their families, and everyone who reads it. I live in a nursing home and know that some of the residents are content, some unhappy, and some feel they have been abandoned in a desert. There are other people who view nursing homes as dreadful places, that everyone is near death. I wish to dispel that myth. There are lots of people in nursing homes that are going places and doing things for others. I like writing poetry because God created so much beauty around us. I like writing about His love, the wonders of nature, and our great country. I say to each of us who encounter desolate places in our lives, believe that God, who is faithful and greater than the desert, can cause springs of water to break forth and make our deserts bloom. May all who read my book experience springs of abundant joy and hope.
