Lives of the Most Eminent British Military Commanders V3 (1832)

Connor MacGillivray, a survivor of the Battle of Culloden, flees from the battlefield, hides in the mountains of Scotland, but is caught and imprisoned by English dragoons. After four years of heavy torture by his archenemy, Major George Wellington, Connor escapes seriously hurt and finds shelter in the house of the chieftain of the Clan Douglas. He falls in love with the chiefas daughter and marries her. After a last rebellion of the Clan Douglas against the English, Connor and his wife have to flee again, but this time out of their home country. They flee to the New World to build up a new home in the colony of Virginia. And just as it seems that they can live in peace and harmony, Connoras archenemy shows up again, and Connor has to face and fight him one last time in order to save his family and to finally find peace.
