The Civil War Crime Commission hires Moses Washington, a Black Union Sergeant, to find Benson Krowley, America’s most wanted war criminal. They need Moses because Benson and his clan had killed twelve troopers under Moses’ command while robbing a payroll, but they left a wounded Moses alive and he wants revenge. Moses hunts Benson down, kidnaps him, and takes him in the desert. Five days later Eve, an Indian woman, and Kim, her Negro son, find Moses and Benson dying of thirst. That night Dr. Duvall walked in their camp and warned Moses that Benson’s friends were just minutes behind him. They rush to the border town of Calico but the clan is waiting for them and all but Kim gets trapped. Moses’ friend Joseph finds Kim and they get Moses, Duvall and Eve free, and then, they bring their civil wrath down on the Krowley’s kin and clan.
