Samuel Richardson

Arson in White Deer is a saga of the Porter family. It begins in the summer of a58, with the funeral of a beloved aunt and the burning of her home in the small Texas town of White Deer. The story includes a family altered by alcohol abuse, the loss of a spouse and cultural prejudice of the time. The hardships brought on by JW Porter, an arrogant cowboy, hardened by circumstance, create havoc to those around. It includes ethnically motivated manslaughter, the love of a soul mate, and hatred of a despised father. Throughout the story, the scene of the fire is revisited. The tale concludes with the culprits revealed and the cause understood.
