Following my retirement as a senior vice president and manager of the computer division, which was the nerve center of a huge Detroit based financial institution, I accumulated a list of 32 unique items that I encountered as a manager. I subsequently realized that I had never been taught about these items in any formal education courses that I had taken. This book is a straightforward representation of those 32 items and how I dealt with them. I believe they will apply to every manager regardless of where that manager works. Some items have very specific objective answers while others are more subjective and lend themselves to spirited discussion as there are many different ways in which to solve the same problem.
