There is little doubt that public education in America needs change that will bring it more in line with the demands of a global society. However, pressure to fit into a prescribed solution, which the system is presently experiencing, is primarily due to the actions of a few politicians who have seized an opportunity mainly for personal gain. These politicians are far removed from the problem, yet still profess to be experts, capable of directing the crucial and complex reformation of our basic education system. You and I must demand removal of the political interference. We must establish communication among the average citizens to publicly air the problems plaguing our schools and develop a realistic approach to reformation.
