I received my earlier education on safari from my mother, an adventuress, and my father, a game warden, on the banks of the Limpopo River in South Africa. After my father was mauled by a leopard, we returned to Pretoria where I completed my formal education. My dream was to become a veterinarian, but fate sent me in a different direction: show-business. In Cape Town, I designed stage sets, sang in Gilbert and Sullivan, and did dramatic acting, which took me to London to further my career. But instead of Shakespeare I landed in a revue where I was spotted by a scout of the Moulin Rouge of Paris. I traveled with them for three years. Eventually I ended up in America. I quit the stage and became a U.S. Citizen. In Miami Beach I attended F.I.U., studied gerontology, and stayed in that field for seventeen years till my early retirement. A year ago I moved to the romantic city of Bellingham, Washington, to be near my only daughter. Here I enjoy my hobbies of art, sculpting, marionette theatre, and I devote most of my time to writing and illustrating children’s books. My second book, Bridge of Souls, poetry for lovers, follows my biography Jungle DaysaParis Nights, also published by PublishAmerica, and I promise it will not be my last.
