Pearl’s Fairy Flower and Other Tales (1883)

John Redding, an undercover cop, suspected a leak from within the department that would expose him. After resigning and lying low in Philadelphia, he falls in love with Sally Bannister. Knowing he canat take her back to his home in Florida and live the life she doesnat know he can afford, he seeks help from a prominent Tampa attorney, Karen Fowler Bowen of Fowler and Simms Law Firm. Karen, along with Bill Hadley, the firmas investigator, uses information Redding gives them to put together enough of a file to hand over to the DA. After meeting with Karen and Hadley, Redding returns to Philadelphia where he is later found dead in his car. When Karen Bowen is found dead in her home, Karenas best friend, Kathleen Haggerty, steps in to help find the murderer. Detectives Rush and Cannon are given the case of Bowenas death and tangle with Kate Haggerty in the process.
