Thomas Nast: His Period and His Pictures (1904)

Hospital Corpsman Patrick OaMalley is an Irishman down on his luck. Assigned to a Marine rifle company, he gets sent to Viet Nam just as the fighting is beginning to reach its peak. He feels his luck is due for a change after eight months of jungle fighting, and he is partially rightathe entire rifle company is inexplicably pulled off the line and marched aboard a ship going to Costa Rica. Unfortunately his luck does change, and for the worse. Separated from the Marines after his helicopter is shot down, OaMalley has to fight the communists and the jungle itself while caring for a wounded female intelligence agent. When his company is assigned to go after gunrunners, OaMalley plays a pivotal role of defense as the Marines are about to be overrun. From combat ambushes to air strikes, the action is nonstop.
