- In 1874, John Ernst Worrell Keely demonstrated a mysterious force to a group of businessmen. His demonstration was so compelling that they launched the Keely Motor Company. Keely’s inventions were widely regarded, but investors wanted profits, which were not forthcoming. The shareholders sued and Keely was sent to jail. Enter Mrs. Moore, a poet, novelist and philanthropist, who became Keely’s champion. Her book is the only complete account of Keely’s work and theories and it includes his description of his discoveries and the hypotheses involved.
