Whether we align ourselves with the tradition of the saint, the master, or the prophet, it is the commitment deep within our being that springs to the surface as our ideal that will dictate the path which is ours to tread. We grow in our dedication to service through our intuited path in a natural expansion of consciousness. To manifest that noble, honorable, and timeless tradition of service to the well-being of those in physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual need proves itself to be the true sign of illumination. This is an experience beyond the ordinary range of the senses that the Sufis have called the breath of the Beloved. Only a lover enraptured in the presence of the Beloved will dare to jump with fearless disregard into the unknown. Through sainthood, mastery, or prophethood, via spirituality, mysticism, or religion, the truth is revealed to us when we finally have the courage to look into the depth of our heart. There we discover through our pain, our suffering, and our joy the connectedness of our lives with the world at large.
