Carline is a young Haitian immigrant whose life changed dramatically after moving to the United States. She dealt with pressure from family and school. She also had a hard time learning English. Suffering from losing her mother and her siblings, she dealt with depression for years and attempted suicide several times. Often she was without a home for short periods of time. She strove for years to go to school and tried so hard to believe that love existed, but she could not do either for a long time. In the end, she achieved her dream of a career, took charge of her depression and gave a shot at love.
