The Baptist Praise Book (1872)

Two teenage girls from a small desert town in western Nevada journey to the north coast of California to visit the Pacific Ocean beaches and the infamous Point Reyes Lighthouse. All along their motor trip, they sight a lone hiker who appears to be out for a leisurely stroll, but he is always ahead of them. On the back of his blue jacket are the bright red letters: JESUS SAVES. Experiencing many exciting and frightening occurrences along their journey, they finally reach the historic Point Reyes Lighthouse. After their tour, they hide inside the deserted lighthouse after dark and experience their most bizarre adventure thus far. They are abruptly transported out of the lighthouse when the old oil searchlight suddenly comes on and transports them, along with a mysterious light being in the form of a man, on an awesome journey throughout our Solar System and beyond to Heaven itself.
