Charlie Williams is fast with a gun. Unknowingly, she challenges Tom Bratcher, a gunslinger, to a shooting match. When she wins, Bratcher finds her and calls her out. Disbelief floods her heart so she turns to walk away. A bystander yells and Charlie turns. Now she has killed a man, though in self defense. Hunted by would be gunslingers, Charlie searches for the peace and help her Mama says God has promised.. Needing a new partner to help carry a gold shipment the cavalry needs now, Captain Hayes has suggested a man named Joseph Ritter. Joseph is a half-breed who’s known to be tough, honest, trustworthy and single. Before reaching the end of her journey, Charlie finds new paths and a new and true friend in Tewanee, an Indian girl. Charlie believes God has been searching for her, but in her heart finds she has also been searching for God.
