The Gospels clearly reveal that the main theme of Jesusa teaching was the Kingdom of God. Yet in most modern American churches the Kingdom of God is an event still in the future. Why would Jesus spend so much energy teaching about a time so far removed from his listeners and still unrealized today? Believing Like Jesus: The Kingdom of God looks at the Kingdom of God as Jesus taught about it in the Synoptic Gospels. Each meditation, from its Scriptural base, is designed to prompt the reader to re-think what they have been taught about the Kingdom of God and to hear and understand, maybe for the first time, the plain teaching of Jesus. From John the Baptist to the Apostles, Believing Like Jesus: The Kingdom of God takes Jesusa teaching on the Kingdom very literally and applies these teachings to His time as well as to our own.
