Poetry was a gift given to author-poet Brenda Lacy by God in order to strengthen her soul to deal with the harsh realities of life. In 1994 Brenda’s niece died after six years of struggling with spinal meningitis and many surgeries. As with most people Brenda didn’t know how to deal with her pain, so she picked up a pen to write how she felt; her first poem, Bond, was born. This poem is featured in this book. Brenda is dedicating this Conscience Theories to Crystal, her niece, who would have been 19 in July of 2006. The wisdom of poetry is a great outlet. While some of the poems are true, others are not. Poetry is a magical composition of words and feelings. Inspiring and motivating others is Brenda’s goal for Volume 1. Poetry is beautiful and allows you to be who you want to be, and sometimes who you don’t want to be. Expressing yourself through words can be the most amazing feeling in the world. The author hopes that those who read Conscience Theories will be enlightened so they don’t feel so alone in this huge world. Brenda is married and has two beautiful children. Brenda was born in Greatbend, Kansas, and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. God bless everyone.
