Terrorists led by Esteban Dario and Cuban military advisor Carlos Brazil attack a remote U.S. oil site in Guatemala. Killed in the attack are site supervisor Matthew Jamison and his wife, Nancy. Charles Ackerton, director of Central American Operations for Connelly Oil, introduces U.S. counter-terrorist troops into the country to protect the companyas operations. CIA director of Latin American Operations, Frank Keagy, learns of Ackertonas operation and brings it under the agencyas control. Leading the counter-terrorist unit is James Morgan, Nancy Jamisonas father, and Robert Crockett. Janis Holdt, a reporter, investigates Connelly Oilas operations, learns of Morganas and Crockettas presence, and is captured by the terrorists. Morgan attacks the terroristas camp and is wounded in the fighting. Dario is killed and Brazil escapes toward Belize with Janice Holdt, pursued by Crockett. Brazil is killed at the Belize border in an ambush by British troops and Janice rescued.
