Bread or Rice is an adventure story as seen and told from the perspective of a middle-class American Southerner. A recently divorced male with a strong Southern drawl finds himself transferred to the Orient. Living and working alongside various nationalities in Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, China, Singapore, India, and Japan proves to be a humorous and unforgettable experience. Even more of a challenge is his setting out to make a home life for himself in his domicile city of Hong Kong.
