Billy Buckins and the Pirates Map is about a boy of the age of twelve growing up in Charlestown in the Carolinas in the year 1755. Billy Buckins has been home for one year after a very dangerous voyage. Billy and his new step-brother Tom have made a better life for their mother, Ms. Buckins. The boy’s become bored and this leads to another adventure, but this time they are plunged into an adventure that neither of them expected. They travel to a strange new island and endure hardship, but learn to depend on each other. Who is the stranger on the island and why is he here?
