Christine Morey has been given the opportunity of traveling to many third-world countries where the way has opened up for her to teach machine knitting, mostly to women with no other means of supporting themselves. In many cases dignity is restored to these women and they are often able to return to their own villages and be part of the social and economic scene once again. When she leaves a particular country, she always leaves knitting machines in villages or schools. Garments are then able to be made both for family and friends but also to be bartered in exchange for money or food.
