Before I Was Who I Am Today was inspired by my life living for Jesus Christ. It gives me great pleasure to dedicate this book to many family members and friends: Jevet E. Cook, Florine Cook, Mr. William Baylor, who died in 2008, Thelma Maffadden, Sandra Gethers, Carol Santos, Nora Pinckney, Shelia Nelson, Patricia Chaplin, Shirley Brothers, Georgian Joy Edwards, Etta Mae Bryan, Deborah Goodridge, and my five aunts, Lisa Walker, Florence Capers, Rose Ann Reid, Ida Walker and Sally Godson, because they have touched my life in a very positive way. I thank all of them for the kindness that they have shown me through the years from childhood to becoming the adult that I am today, because with them in my life and the love of Jesus Christ in my life, it made me who I am today. All the credit belongs to God, who is the head of my life.
