Copper miners in Michiganas Upper Peninsula have a problem in 1913. They want better pay and working conditions, so they turn to the Western Federation of Miners for help. Instead, they become embroiled in a labor strike that seems to have no end. Paul Weyburn leads some of the men through the strike while struggling to keep his family together. Just when things canat get any worse, a tragedy occurs on Christmas Eve that threatens to destroy the town of Red Jacket forever.
