1950s New York City drug trafficking leads to confrontation between dealer Rance Tugger and Virginia farmer Stone Walcott. A love triangle involving the two forces Rance to teach Stone that might makes right. 1960s Long Island high school sweethearts Lyle Mack and Stacy Sands are besieged with dysfunctional families. Graduation and the move to college leads to a new romance for football stud Lyle. A disconsolate Stacy seeks revenge in the arms of a conniving Stone Walcott.
