Selections from the Early Ballad Poetry of England and Scotland was his first work and from that time until his death was never really out of harness having written and published a number of works and essays. Partial Contents: Robin Hood and Guy of Gisborne; Sir Cauline; The Nut-brown Maid; Chevy Chase; Annan Water; The Lass of Lochroyan; and The Earl of Murray.
