It does not profess to give an exhaustive or orderly account of the Grail romance cycle; it deals with particular aspects of the legend, and makes no pretense of exhausting even these. It seemed worthwhile to present the facts about the cycle with greater fullness. Nutt wished to give all who felt an interest in the line of investigation he opened up the opportunity of pursuing it further.
