This book is about the relationships between peoples. There are chapters on youth and academic exchanges, educational co-operation, the national cultural programmes of France and Germany, business and trade union contacts, twin-towning and the work of private societies dedicated to fostering rapprochement. While describing these activities the authors have tried to evaluate them as a model for wider European collaboration.
