Important aspects of modern organic synthesis such as atom economy, organo- and supramolecular catalysis, metal-mediated reactions, mechanisms and processes selectivity, green chemistry approaches and microwave assistance are discussed in the context of multicomponent assembling of heterocycles from activated alkynes.
