THE MEDIATORIAL REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST EMBRACES ALL MANKIND. ALL power is given unto me in heaven and in earth; go ye therefore and teach all nations. In the foregoing chapter I spoke of the authority committed to our mediator over the fallen spirits, the devil and his angels; the object of which government is the destruction of their rebel hosts, and of the influence which they have usurped in the empire of God. I spoke also respecting his mediatorial headship over the holy angels; whom he does not redeem by his blood; but whom he employs as ministering spirits, to forward the salvation of those who were redeemed by his blood; and whose happiness, probably the specific reward of their probationary fidelity, consists in the glorious employment of co-operating with the son of God, in the dispensation of grace and mercy to mankind; and in the advantages which they possess in this new oflice, to contemplate and enjoy the wondrous perfections of Jehovah. Setting then these subjects aside, let us proceed to that subject which interests ourselves more than all other subjects under the sun.?The mediatorial reign of Jesus over mankind. And here it is absolutely evident, certain, and undeniable, that the mediatorial kingdom of Jesus embraces all mankind; every man, woman, and child of Adam’s family, that have been, are, or ever shall be on this earth.
