I feel not a doubt that if there is a giving heed to the principle of light and truth in the secret of thy soul thou will know an advancement in those things which make for peace. Many are the temptations which await us in various ways, yet there is a Power to rely upon that will be found sufficient to make a way out of them all. I am aware of the slippery paths not only of youth but also of those of more advanced age; and that if we are preserved in the greenness of life, we must be upon the watch. We cannot depend upon the manna that was gathered yesterday, or upon past experience, but we must labor daily for spiritual food which will nourish and strengthen the soul. I believe that if there is a seeking the mind of Truth, and an obeyingits mandates, there are those in the younger walks of life who will be as waymarks unto others, and who may have to tell what the Lord hath done for them. We feel at times oppressed with more than we think we have strength to bear; but when our wills are given up to the will of our Heavenly Father we find some of these trying seasons to be the most profitable, and we can thank Him most for the severe, because he has borne our heads above the floods of discouragement, and, to the praise of his great and worthy name, He has been our helper and our support through all.
